Cyd Akrill M.B.E. wins Knight Frank Healthcare Hero Award
Cyd Akrill M.B.E., Springfield Healthcares Chief Nursing Office, has recently won a Knight Frank Healthcare Hero award for her dedication and contributions during the Coronavirus pandemic. Cyd’s clinical experience and knowledge was invaluable in updating Springfield Healthcare with Public Health England’s ever changing guidelines and keeping residents and team as safe as possible.
Upon receiving her award, Cyd said “although I am always pleased to receive awards and recognition as part of the nursing family, I will not be exchanging my nursing cape for the one of super hero. I am fortunate to have worked with some real heroes but the majority have always been residents and patients whose courage and bravery never failed to amaze me.
For the period of time and circumstance for which I have been recognised, this award must be shared with all my colleagues who have been by my side day and night during the pandemic and continue to be. Thank you.”
Springfield Healthcare are delighted and proud that Cyd has been recognised for her invaluable contributions and clinical knowledge/experience during the last 6 months and for her continual support to the whole team at Springfield. Graeme Lee, Group CEO, said “Cyd is truly one of a kind. She is caring and entirely dedicated to all colleagues and residents, always showing true leadership especially since the pandemic started in March. Cyd is truly a Springfield Hero.”
