Colouring can be highly beneficial for people with dementia since it is a simple activity that anyone can participate in. It can be a useful activity to help ease agitation or aggression in someone with dementia as it is very distracting and calming.
Some experts have likened the effect of colouring to be the same as meditation since it lets you switch off your brain from other thoughts – which for someone with dementia can be very satisfying – and focus on the moment. Therefore, this afternoon, we are holding a colouring in session for our residents!!

Every Tuesday morning, 10:00-12:00, we open our Bistro doors to welcome the community in for some free coffee and cakes.

Please join us during these times if you wish too and you can simply read the newspaper, play board games or talk with others that are visiting us. We are dementia friendly and welcome anyone that would like to visit.
