Springfield Healthcare supporting the local community this Christmas

Christmas is a special time of the year and although many families, schools and care homes have faced difficult challenges this year, for some families and schools it has been tougher than most. Variety reached out to Springfield Healthcare who were keen to link with local school, Seacroft Grange Primary School, to support the students this Christmas. Through a very kind donation from Springfield Healthcare, Variety were able to provide the school with a whole new set of PE equipment and new books to update their school library. On Friday 11th December, Springfield Healthcare representatives visited Seacroft Grange School to deliver these gifts to the children who were absolutely delighted. This donation has made a big difference in making Christmas special for the pupils of this school this year!

Graeme Lee, CEO at Springfield Healthcare, said ‘having previously worked closely with Seacroft Grange Primary School through a pen pal initiative and having welcomed visits from the school children to spend time with residents over the last couple of years, we are pleased to have been able to make such a contribution this Christmas. We hope that in the near future, we will be able to build on this relationship and that both the students at Seacroft Grange and our residents can benefit from communications with one another.’

Holly Abbott, Regional Relationships Manager at Variety, the Children’s Charity, said ‘The donation from Springfield means that this school are able to provide the children with new reading material and up to date PE equipment that will last for a very long time. A lot of children at Seacroft Grange have had a really tough time this year dealing with the pandemic, so we were thrilled that Springfield have been able to help them this Christmas. We hope that through Variety we have introduced the school and care home facilities to each other and they can build a lasting relationship.’
